What transloading is
Transloading is the transfer of goods from one transport unit to another without long storage: container to truck, truck to truck, container to silo truck. In our hall that means two unloading ramps, forklifts, inspection and counting, re-palletising and securing where needed, and loading into the next vehicle the same day (cross-docking). Container stuffing and stripping take place at the same ramp.
Cleared goods
Goods already in free circulation (Union goods or cleared goods) are transloaded without customs formalities. We unload, check, count, re-palletise and secure them where needed, and load them into your or our vehicle. The CMR, delivery note and our receiving report with photos travel with the goods.
Customs goods
Goods not yet cleared (non-Union goods) are transloaded under customs supervision. Three options:
- we clear them at our hall (procedure 40 or 42) and load them for delivery
- they stay in our customs warehouse until you call them off
- we send them onward in transit (T1, T2) to the customs office of destination
What we transload
- pallet cargo, crates, reels, machinery and long cargo
- goods in big-bags and sacks on pallets, straight into a silo truck if needed
- food products and raw materials, pharmaceutical and cosmetic products (separate pages)
- out-of-gauge cargo by prior agreement [confirm: limits]
Between three ports
The hall sits on the A1 motorway between the Port of Koper (27 km), the Port of Trieste (22 km) and the Port of Rijeka (60 km). A container from any of the ports is with us within an hour, and the goods continue as truck cargo to Slovenia, Italy, Austria, Croatia or Germany. Typical case: a container from Rijeka is unloaded and the goods go onto a truck for Italy, or a container from Trieste is cleared and sent to Austria.
What we need for an order
- container number or vehicle and arrival details
- bill of lading or CMR and packing list
- status of the goods: cleared or customs, and the customs procedure you want
- where the goods go next and when
- specifics: dangerous goods, sensitive goods, weight and dimensions
Questions buyers ask
What is the difference between cleared and customs goods?
Cleared goods are already in free circulation in the EU and are transloaded without customs formalities. Customs goods are not yet cleared; we transload them under customs supervision and arrange the import procedure, storage in the customs warehouse or transit.
Do you transload a container from Trieste or Rijeka for delivery to another country?
Yes. We bring the container from the Port of Koper, Trieste or Rijeka to the hall, move the goods onto a truck and deliver them to Slovenia, Italy, Austria, Croatia or Germany, with or without a customs procedure.
How quickly are the goods on their way again?
Cleared goods usually the same day. Customs goods depend on the procedure; with complete documents usually the same working day. [confirm]
Which documents do I get?
A receiving report with photos, the CMR for onward transport and, for customs goods, the customs declaration or the transit accompanying document.
Goods heading for Koper, Trieste or Rijeka?
Send the container or shipment details, the status of the goods and the preferred slot. We confirm the ramp, the procedure and the price.
